Thursday night, October 20, Historic City News reported that a Port Orange woman was killed when she collided with another motorist on I-95 around 8 p.m. The woman was in the center lane on the interstate heading north from St. Augustine when, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), she drifted into the right lane just south of the International Golf Partway exit. According to the FHP report, the 46-year-old woman’s vehicle was hit by the left front of another car driven by a 42-year-old man. The collision sent her car off the interstate and into two trees. An investigation is underway as to why she went off the road and a blood alcohol test was taken.
Unfortunately, this mother of two was not wearing her seat belt and died in the crash. The 42-year-old driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
