Jacksonville Among Top Dangerous Driving Cities

Unfortunately, the South is an overrepresented area of the country in a federal analysis of states with the greatest number of vehicular deaths. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Fatality Analysis Reporting System and General Estimates Systems were used by CNBC and Yahoo News to determine the 15 Most Dangerous Cities for Driving. One-third of the most dangerous cities are in Florida. Some people blame the number of people driving in unfamiliar territory, senior citizens, tourists, along with spring breakers.

The list was compiled among U.S. cities with a population that exceeded 150,000.

Here is the list going backwards:

Here are some of the 15 cities starting with the worst:

#1-Fort Lauderdale, Florida / Total Fatalities per 100,000 = 22.39 / Pedestrian fatalities-24.4%

#2-Orlando/ Fatalities per 100,000=19.95/ Pedestrian fatalities -10.9%

#3- Augusta, Richmond, Georgia/ Fatalities per 100,000=19.57/ Pedestrian fatalities – 15.8%
