A young driver lost his life on the Northside of Jacksonville Tuesday morning, December 27, when his 1984 Chevrolet El Camino left the road and flipped over onto its roof. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 21-year-old driver was southbound on Interstate 295 near the U.S. 1 intersection. For some reason his vehicle crossed to the edge of the road, then fell off the elevated section of the roadway, landing on its roof in a culvert below. The crash happened around 9:45 a.m., and the young driver was not wearing a seat belt. FHP pronounced him dead at the scene.
It is such a loss when a young person loses their life in an accident that was preventable. Our condolences go out to his friends and family for their loss.
